Manager trying to retain me with onsite offer.
I recently interviewed for one company and got an offer. Talked with my manager about this and he's asking me to stay back. He's saying he will promote me and also apply for my H1B. He said try to atleast work onsite in TCS before leaving the work because u can save a lot of money. What should I do. Current YOE: 3.2 years Comp: 9.08 LPA total Offer: 15.5 LPA

Grade C1

Moreover it's about pure luck, mine H1B was initiated by my Portfolio Manager however my luck was not so good that twice I wasn't selected in lottery. You can ask for any European region else the offer seems to be good considering your YOE.

Don't go on trap.Go for new opportunity.

@CuddlyWealth I know one junior who joined TCS with 2.5 years of work experience with CTC 12 LPA. TCS doesnt value existing employees but they are ready to hire with such high packages from outside.

H1B is pure gamble and luck , even if your manager applies from his end process won't start until early next year and no guarantee that your application will be selected in the lottery . So decide wisely , the offer seems to be good and at par with the current market considering your experience and moreover you can try for window shopping with this offer for other good opportunities.

I can assure you your request in GMS would be rejected by GMS team at the end moment in March as TCS internal policy states C3A are eligible for H1B if you don’t meet this one important eligibility GMS team would not listen to any person apart from Business unit heads. Even if you have multiple level of exception on grades.
So the req will show in process till 30 March and then rejected stating not meeting the eligibility criteria.

Yeah I resigned

H1B is a trap used by companies to make people not leave. Once it's applied, you have to get the lot. Even if you get the lot, there should be projects available matching your skillset ok onsite. You may or may not travel but obviously it's time taking. A friend of mine in CTS got his H1B in 2018 and he traveled to US in 2023.
The final decision is always yours. Best of luck

Thanks. Yeah I dont want to stay back another couple of years.

Take that offer do not fall
