
Manager promised C2 promotion 1.5 years back.
So here is the story,
In 2024 June I got an offer in Infosys with 30% hike, and my manager promised to retain me and promote to C2 grade over email.
It's been 1.5 years and when ever I'm asking regarding the promotion they are saying we didn't get some list from higher level.
Please advice what should I do.

Bro mail to HR that what you were promised by management as per retention offer is not received. Also, in parallel loom for other jobs and prepare to leave, as no scope here for any growth.

Talked to HR. She was saying there's nothing I can do it should be from your Project side only. All I will do is accept their request

Raise grievance about it. And attach all mails. Honestly it may happen or not will not be in our control but hr grievance will lead to action on your manager.

Heyya. I am sorry but I come bearing bad news. Similar situation with my senior. He has finally put down his papers. Indirectly it was conveyed by someone senior to him that it was the best decision.
Right now management is in chaos and nobody knows what to do. They say one thing do something else. Parallel they do something new only to retract it later. With current situation they are putting it all on hold promotions, retention, etc everything is based on project criticality.
I would personally advice you to jump ship no looking back. Cause this makes no sense.

That C2 promotion matches same hike other company is offering. My plan was to get the hike, promotion and some tcs gratuity and then try switching in 2025 FY🥲🥲.

Basically you withdrew the paper and got nothing! You should not have done that. Even if they promoted you, TCS doesn't give 30% on promotions. I think you should have negotiated better.

I’m in the same situation. Promotion was promised in September 2024, but I didn’t receive it in the December cycle since, according to HR, I wasn’t compliant with WFO. I’m still waiting, and they mentioned that the promotion cycle hasn’t happened since then.

How can we trust a company which has 90 days notice period and at the same time firing people with more then 35 days bench. It's hypocrisy. So jumping is better.
