Manager asking to work during notice period
A teammate recently resigned. Manager knows he is looking for a job outside. He was new in the team and resigned within a month. So, no KT required. And now, the manager is asking him to work on new deliverables, create a tracker, share the ETA, mention daily progress.
He is doing the same with another guy in the team who was laid off.
I am fearing what will happen if I resign next. He is a shitty person.
What’s the worse a manager can do if one doesn’t work on new deliverables? In previous company, people used to ghost their managers. Is that still allowed?

What do you expect? You're getting paid right?

Isn’t notice for transition and KT? Not new deliverables! That’s what notice period was created for - to help teams transition from one employee to another.

That's the logical way to look at it. But it isn't a rule, right. In an employee-friendly company, they relieve ppl earlier. Hell in the USA it's a 2 week notice period. In india it's become a legacy system, ask anyone "why do we keep 90 days? Oh because it's the norm."
So they keep giving work. A manager knows it's pointless, as the employee doesn't have the heart to do it. But what's the alternative?
I doubt if they even know what's a gardening leave.

Is it a startup kind of company, then you can't do anything. But if it is a big company and you are working on client deliveries- fuck up the deliveries, do Typo in your deliveries, paste wrong numbers then correct it. Do it multiple times and your manager will be begging you to leave.

you can ghost stop attending standup attend sometime and then keep showing that you are ignoring him
