Trending @Accenture; Manager asking for weekend support even in weekend

I recently moved into new project and here I saw people working on Saturday ,Sunday . When the project started they are asking to work on Saturday,Sunday. And they are asking to take comp-off but that is not right,I feel this is not a good practice as this would impact our health ,but manager seems working every day and asking us to do. What to do in this situation,as I recently joined this project and these guys didn't make me aware about this weekend support. I don't need comp-off, need my Saturday, Sunday to spend with my family How should I get of this ?

As per the policies, you have to lend support if your manager asks so and gives you appropriate remuneration. But if you don't want to work on weekends then talk confidently with your manager that I was aware that I have to lend support on weekends so frequently. Ask him to roll you off the project. If he denies and tries to pressurize you, plz stay calm, don't fight. After the call ends, send him a mail that as discussed over the call, you were not aware of this frequent weekend support and it is difficult for you to manage because of you family reasons. You will try your best to lend support however due to the given situation, your availability could be intermittent.

It is normal in Accenture and specially when you are in new project. Better to set your priorities with your manager i.e. rating, promotion, increment etc

Is it every weekend or like one weekend in 1-2 months?

Even in my project we are asked to provide night along with weekend support for a week but that is not every week. That happens like once in 1.5 months maybe. And we are given extra allowance for it. Along with comp-off.

I personally don't mind that as long as it happens after a gap.

If it's a regular thing in your project then probably a good time to take roll-off.

Tell them that you can't work on weekends. If it's once or twice a year then fine, else don't do it. Loon for some other project.

If it is a new project obliviously they will ask you to support for the weekend. But not sure about Sunday.. and more over instead of comp off you can ask for OT payment
