Kohli played good, no doubt. And yes, catches as well. But India would have easily lost by 30-50 runs hadn't shami taken those crucial wickets.
Also, for a bowler to get MoM, should he score a century as well? Or take all 10 wickets and score runs?
Nope, fiver in a world cup holds huge importance considering the way NZ innings came to an end. They only made 86 runs in the last 15 overs of their inning and lost 7wickets. So ideally, it was Indian bowlers who restricted them, and that role is bigger than the amazing knock that Kohli played. No disrespect but it was Shami’s day.
