Macbook Air vs Macbook Pro
Is it really worth paying the extra premium for a Macbook Pro for using it for app dev?
Honestly, haven’t had any issues with the M2 air, can handle most loads nicely. Fan is only helpful if you’re building more locally, thanks to cloud builds, hardly get the cpu stressed.
However more memory is always good, opt for the 16 gigs at least
I have burnt my fingers with MBA in the past. They work fine for 2-3 years but aren’t anywhere close to MBP on terms of durability. MBPs are the real deal(lasts for 4-5 years).
I'm a marketer that only needs Chrome and that fan saves my life. The news Airs are amazing, but end mein fan maangta.
MacBook Pro all the way
Pro is worth specially if you are a backend developer
Yes fan makes a difference
If a you are dev definitely go for M2 MBP
