This is just from personal experience but I've seen economists become good PMs / strat guys. Especially the ones that do a follow up MBA.
Seen 2 ex- colleagues from this background show the best understanding of business fundamentals and apply frameworks in useful ways than an average engineer + MBA.
I think behavioural economics translates best into PM/ strat and marketing roles.
