Low pay

I'm at a service company working with ETL. I joined here during the pandemic in October 20 due to job necessity. I'm a mechanical engineer and was doing well before this and was planning masters abroad . As I'm away from mech for more than 2Y now can't start again and what I'm doing is not good either and considering growth. I earn below 30k. Even if I switch it won't make much difference. Is it all over for me? Can't make it in life anymore? I'll be 27 in a few months.

ETL is a good base to jump to analytics-->Analyst --> product role. With each jump you will get a hike in salary and responsibility to solve a core problem and create an impact.

And since your base pay is currently low, your absolute jumps can be high, conditional on your upskilling.

My advise will be to leave your past behind. No point dwelling over things you can't change. Have a forward looking approach on what skill sets you need to build and just start taking one step at a time.

Is it also possible for automation tester to go to analyst position after a switch ??

Analyst is a very generic starting role. You just need to show a good analytical aptitude and problem solving skills in your interviews.
