I know they deferred freshers offers but so did many companies. A lot of companies have been firing people but on other hand hiring experienced folks as well.

What I believe is that companies realised that they donot require so many entry level folks especially the ones they made commitments a year back. But they are still hiring niche roles as well as experienced folks.
