Looking for guidance as I shift my career path

After working in a technical IT role for some time, I’m looking to transition toward a more business-oriented career path — specifically into roles like Business Analyst,or Product related jobs.

My background in IT has given me strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills. Going forward, I’d like to focus more on understanding business requirements, working with clients, and helping drive product or process improvements.

💡 I’d appreciate any advice, mentoring, or opportunities as I make this shift. If you have any tips for breaking into business-focused roles or have experience with a similar transition, please do share — I’d love to connect and learn.

Which role would you recommend for someone moving from IT into business?

Feel free to comment if you have other suggestions too!

Your IT background is a strong foundation for Business Analyst or Technical Product Owner roles. Start by: Learning business analysis tools (SQL, Jira, process mapping) Contributing to requirement docs in your current role Building 1-2 case studies (e.g., "How I improved X process") Join our career transition group for mentorship and referrals: https://chat.whatsapp.com/B6weknl7133BQXjPva0pgB Many IT-to-BA transitions succeed by highlighting "bridging tech and business" skills.
