Looking for Advice: Switching to MNCs from a Node.js Background

Hi folks,

I have 2+ years of experience working as a Backend Developer with Node.js and NestJS. While I’ve gained solid exposure to REST APIs, microservices, databases (MySQL/MongoDB), and backend architecture, I’m facing a common challenge:

  1. Most mid-sized companies and MNCs I’m applying to are looking for Java or Go experience.
  2. This limits my chances even though the backend concepts are transferable.

I'm looking for advice from folks who have successfully made this switch, especially:

How did you position yourself when your stack didn’t match?

Should I learn Go/Java just enough to clear interviews?

Any companies or roles you’d recommend where Node.js backend experience is still valued?

Would love to hear your thoughts, experiences, or referrals 🙏
