Linkedin Issue!!

I joined a new company recently and they have scheduled client interview after the date of joining. But i got interview invite on doj itself. With curiosity I asked one person in LikedIn that whether there is too much of documentation work involved in project. Unfortunately he works for client itself. That guy went and told to my BU lead that i enquired like this. And my Lead pinged me that client has reached out to him by saying I spoke to one guy and enquired something.

What am not understanding is what's wrong in this? Why that guy highlighted like this? I didn't ask anything wrong right? I asked whether there is documentation work or not. Did I do anything wrong? Also is Linked is a valid proof for him to tell my Lead.

What should I do in this condition.
