Steve often talked about Sculley’s disease, referring to how true product innovation stops when Product people are removed from decision making and, Sales and Marketing become the dominant voice.

This is often because of the fact that, when companies scale, Sales and Marketing brings more money in. But it becomes the death of innovation that got the company to this scale.

And so the rot spreads.

MBA is a deadweight education. Its only for brand image. It teaches no specialized skill that is usefull to a company.

Thoughts on this? I myself did my MBA from a T-1 school and found it value enriching experience that allowed me to crack my role at Uber.

Please don’t do an MBA for the sake of doing one

Lots of M7 MBA folks I know of are having ‘Stealth’ on their LinkedIn since they haven’t found a role yet and don’t want to show a gap - it’s brutal out there
