
Life in TCS getting worse day by day
It's my third year in TCS and I am working in office location which is 500km away from my hometown. My manager doesn't even gives any planned leaves more than 2 days (even if you ask in 2month advance) and single day wfo exception. Even if I ask for single day leave, she will enquire deep to check whether I could able to manage to do WFH. Right now, I am stuck with work load where I need to work for 10-12 hrs/day. I have faced lot of humiliation and guilt for not taking care for family and running behind jobs. I have requested for wfo exception multiple times, but no use. Still I don't understand what's need of coming to office (5 day/week) , where we have to do daily targets Irrespective of doing wfh/wfo and also only 5 associates from my team are working here and rest 100 people(including my manager) from other city. I am 100percent sure that they won't release me for these silly reason, but I was adamant to take wfh to support my wife during last two month of pregnancy as she is nearing her delivery due date , since she has lot of complications. Again my manager said same thing(your case doesn't fit in any of wfo exception policy) and denied my request. So I am tried hard this time and reached to HR this time. I have mailed them all the supporting medical documents of my wife for requesting wfo exception. The HR denied my request and stating that they won't give any wfh for 2 months for dependent medical reason, but I was allowed to take only 5days/month wfh(I.e.85 wfo compliance) and leaves if needed. Still I am confused how I could manage and fulfill my family commitments. Even I heard that there is no paternal leaves in our policy, but again who cares even when I have already 45 days(sick and personal leaves) and not allowing me to utilize it. Why cant these people nt understanding others need and values that. I am regretting for joining TCS for just 35 percent hike by leaving the organization with good work life balance and hybrid model. I have accepted tcs offer in feb 2022 by noticing their TCS announcement of 25*25 model and again it's crushed.

There is policy for new born care on that as a father you can take 6 months WFH after your baby’s birth it will need project approval and your right to take it. So start preparing for that approval from now at least 2-3 months you can negotiate.

@AcclaimedThunderbolt Don't apply for leave if you have the earned leaves it will automatically applied and approved if you do not enter the timesheet also if you are working from office then do not work after completing 9 hrs if you do lunch in office then add 30 min in the above after that you can leave no need to ask for any permissions and even after that if your manager ask to work do send a mail looping HR mentioned the same that you are asked to do over time and what will be the OT pay will be paid by tcs

@anshu_05 thanks for your suggestion. But here they have pre-defined daily unrealistic target(no of task / per day)for 9 hrs which is taking additional time to compete. Our job is based on productivity/quality target , if I need to get OT amount, i have to complete additional no. Of task.
Bro if they dont allow wfh.. when you leave office dont even login again... just say It take 3-4 hours to get back to my home and I cant work in Bus or train.. simple... or better say I lock my laptop in my compartment when I leave so that it might not get damaged in rush... If they wont allow you to work in home .. make sure they understand what you are feeling this side. There are 'n' number of things u can say... leave at a specific time state I wont get this bus if I didnt leave early.. You dont have to take care of someone who doesnt take your feelings into consideration

Same here, I don't understand why We should come to the office all month. My home town is 550Kms away. Joined as a fresher and getting 25k per month and this is my Only income.
Staying in a metro city means for my stay alone one third of salary is going.
I cannot look after my Family in any situation since I am here.
For last 2 weeks I was feeling sick, I went to home and got alright came back again. After coming to PG foods the climate everything was not okay and had to suffer .
As for tcs, exception will be allowed only if you cannot walk even though you cannot walk exception will be allowed for few months only . I heard my manager saying we asked a person who met with an accident and unable to walk to come to office .

Even I am working in tcs for long time and in My project for more than 4 yrs , why can’t you swipe and go back at nearest office location ? By booking visit office without seat . I see that your office location is too far from ur home check with hr once on wfh option . Coming about leaves no one have authority to ask what are you sick about if ur leaves are less than two days , just drop a mail to manager stating ur not feeling well thats all .

If you don't fill TCS timwsheet then leave will be deducted automatically. Goto near by office for Swiping in and out.. just for 20 to 30 mins.

Sad to hear this.. This is happening for most of the associates who have joined during or after pandemic they are the new comers so they are getting crushed easily by the new policies as they don't have anyone in management to support.. Most of the old timers are enjoying the policy loop holes due to support of their managers and HRs.. I'm not sure what is the point(from manager n HR) for not granting occasional WFH for you.. But believe me if you are in good terms with them you can easily avail those exceptions time to time... Enough options are available.. But again it seems to me that no good relationship with immediate manager leading to this suffering.. Remember that company is as good as your immediate manager/boss/supervisor

@GrimyBody Impossible, my felow teamates were already in queue for long times to get release. They won't release as easily. Also not sure, how will be new project works and sticking to TCS internal policy. Only option to move out, now I am ready to take up any jobs which comes first. I believe that no other company will be worse than this in terms of wfh flexibility and robo HRs)

Same yaar this is so irritating they just talk about employee friendly TCS is totally ander kuch air bahar kuch

Only option is resign
manager and hr can go to any low here, there main work is to threaten employee with consequences
tcs neither pays better nor it offers flexibility and the policy changes every quarter it seems
