What would be your advice for someone who had to take a step back from career for personal reasons & in turn life turned out worse leading to a career break of a year who is now occupied in upskilling, meantime getting a 9-5 job opportunity (no long hrs, less salary & position as an administrative assistant). Shd one apply for that to get rid of financial tensions at the moment or wait for the opportunities in same process in a MNC.
@Crystalflash if there is a question on survival, i wud recommend to take this temp job. It will keep u busy as well as help u having financial stability. Meanwhile, you can continue upskilling urself, connect with people working ìn mnc, talk to them, learn from their experiences, find the right opportunity and switch
Thank you, Just one more question add on to this:
If in case later on I join to MNC will they know if I worked in a temp job? Through PF or something? Bcoz it’s an irrelevant process & also I don’t want them to know my salary which is 1/4 of the salary in MNC (Most of the MNC companies fix salaries based on ur previous one so thinking from that perspective)
I am looking for a mentor in my life, to guide me through different aspects of my life, how to choose one & find one?
@SorrowfulWriggler you might not find everything in one person, everyone has mastered one or the other aspects in their life. Be it married life, professional, enterprenour journey, financial success, sports, fitness and there is no end to this list tbh. One thing i can recommend is, expand your network, talk to new people, find the ones who are on peak or success in a particular aspect, learn from their stories amd make the best decesion which can lead to a happy life in future.
Guess the help is over. But trying my luck. 1.I have a couple of issues. I am on notice period but company is not assigning anyone on my project. It's been a month already and I worry that they would extend my notice period(which in itself is 3 months). Worried that I am gonna miss on the opportunity I already have. Is there anything I could do to get an extension on the offer I have. They only know that my NP is 60 days. 2. How is Oceaneering International? I think I would be able to bag a position of senior application software engineer. Is the pay good? Google searches gives mixed feedback so not sure.
@GrimBoudoir 1)talk to manager/HR and get official release date over an email. Also talk to HR of the next company if they are flexible with your joining date. Did you mentioned 60 days notice to the next company but your actual notice period was 90 days? 2) Pay looks good when u convert forex to INR. Consider proportional expenses, social life, weather conditions, calculate min money you want to save. If you think you can get atleast 5 times what you are earning curently, then you should try
out of rat race , how ? you work at google isn’t it a race ?
@well_wisher can be for others, atleast not for me
i see
I am a hardware(VLSI) enthusiast, I have graduated in 2020 ECE branch and I did not believe in rat race and dropped 1.6 year for GATE preparation and didn't able to get anything in return but in 2022 I got MNC where my salary was 3lpa and that year i again appeared GATE and cleared it with some 5k rank, I was getting nits but not vlsi branch, my question is I am planning to get married in next 2 year but my salary is too low now it's 4.09lpa and technology skill is mainframe (I don't get any exposure here and learning is almost 0), I am 26F
Any suggestions, should I leave my job and follow my passion for hardware design. Please suggest me
@Bingo12 if you are not learning and growing in your current job, you should quit. But this is not the right time, apply for hardware design roles, get an offer and move into some MNC. If u r not getting any calls, you may opt for hardware design course while continuing curent job, there are few good institutes which offers these courses. Let me know if u need help further on this.
