Lesson learned late: Men texting late in night is a red flag

My ex (then boyfriend) would be "busy" through the day and then send cute texts at night 2 am, sometimes 3 am And stupid me would believe "Awww he is thinking about me"

We were in college together, and he never attended classes. God knows what he was busy with.

College got over, our relationship too, because long distance and lockdown didn't really carry. Yesterday, I get a "Hey, how have you been?" at 2.38 am

Damn the spiral. But I am big girl now, and intelligent. I blocked him! He is NOT "thinking" of me at 2 am.

A guy connected with me over telegram through a mutual group as we both are preparing for an entrance. I have spoken to him for like 3-4 times only that too just about the preparation stuff.

Last night, he texted me asking how do I handle the stress. Naive me thought he must be stressed because of the preparation and I started giving him some realistic advice like he could meditate, or pick up a hobby or something to relax.

After around 15-20 minutes, I understood what kind of stress and the coping mechanisms he was talking about (:

When women do it, it is cute. Men do it, it is harassment πŸ˜‚

This is a bit too generalising tbh, everyone's busy in the day mostly. Commute to and from work, plus work, plus meals exercise chores etc etc.

I only have time to catch up with people after 11-12pm. And that's when most people start falling asleep.

We were in college, I did mention that. Plus he didn't go to classes, he had all the time in the world

That's still presumptuous. You could've asked him where he goes and what he does when he isn't/wasn't attending classes. There are many people who work jobs while in college too, so did I.

You didn't ask either because you were infatuated i guess. Easier to guess and assume stuff.

Lol. I recently heard from a friend that he called a girl he met on Hinge around 2 a.m., and she asked him, 'Are you a f*ckboy? Calling at this time.'

Didn't really get what you mean to say. What exactly is the reason you think it's a difference for the past you and present you?

Internet world is crazy 😧. Good that you blocked him...

Peace of mind >> being good to someone who has been mehh to you.

Ofc you were infatuated, you were literally dating him lol.

I didn't assume he was working, I said you should've asked him instead of assuming. If you still don't know what he was actually up to then you're still guessing :)

You can tell yourself whatever you like to keep yourself happy, or you can accept your mistake and try to correct it in the future. Either ways, choice is yours. Ciao ✌️
