Legal Notice from TCS.

Hi all, my friend joined TCS back in September 2021. He decided to resign just three months later, in November. He didn't served the notice period or payed the bond money as he had some serious family problem, even the HR aggreed. He didn't get any release letter or anything! His manager was like, "Okay, cool, see ya!" and that was it. No one even mentioned a word about money or anything like that.

But now, after 2.5 years, out of the blue, they sent him a legal notice. They want him to pay Rs 87,562. 50K for "breach of agreement," 37K for "excess salary," and another Rs 250 for "handling."

Now, my friend is scratching his head, wondering what to do next. So, any advice or ideas on how to handle this situation?"

Don't know mostly i guess they mean the three months of notice period which he didn't served, basic pay *3 (12 *3 =36).

You can file lawsuit under labour law. Check the appropriate lawsuit and you can counter this.
First thing, there is no such valid bond which will hold employees under the company which saying you can not resign within some time period. I have checked these kind of law on labour forum
