Left Pune after spending 17 years
Moved to tier 2 city after spending 17+ years in Pune including short onsite stays of a few years in between. I feel good about it. Closer to home. Life is slow. Food is good. Rent is cheap. Traffic is manageable.
No doubt Pune was good in terms of weather and opportunities, but no regrets.

You must have entered the workforce around 2008.
Many of the folks entering the workforce around the market crash had a very struggleful life.
Compared to Covid crash, 2008 freshers were very tough.

I doubt
Tech was still booming Nd most got onsite chances, covid batch is cursed and ai is eating away jobs

Life is never easy, we had our share of challenges and the new people will have certainly similar levels of challenges may be in different shapes and forms

But why you left and have you find another good option than pune ?

No specific incident, more about how to support the family. Also, this feeling of being an outsider always was there in the back of the mind. Tier-2 cities have a lot to offer especially for 40+ with kids and all. Food, culture, time with family and friends.

I think the slow life is what gives me maximum happiness. Don't want to run all the time.

Pune is a tier 2 city.
