Leaves during Notice period

Hi guys , Recently I have applied for 10 days of earned leave, it is still not approved my manager said it will get auto proved after few days but then I am about to put my papers in 2 days so will leaves still get auto approved or is it going to lapse or should I request my manager to approve leaves before I put my papers
