Leave Process at Work

I have no clue why taking leave is such a big issue with managers and management , why do we have to always lie in order to take leave from work, it's like we cant get away with work to do our family related work or run errands or household work that cannot be done while we are in login hours , I myself work for US client and we know many of us have to work in western time and we sometimes cannot even do grocery related or normal household work , we already do our job in unusual timings and then too we have to give justification on why i need 1 day away for my personal work , i know there is billing and all involved but still there is a life outside job and people have household responsiblities on their shoulder , why do i have to give each and every detail of my personal life , i need one day away from my work due to personal reason isnt that enough , and there are people in other coutries that says yeahbwe need 2 weeks off for travel or trip , and here we are like their is this emergency or that medical emergency , i am sick of this.
