Leave if you don’t like

I’m born & raised in Mumbai. I have been meeting people from different sectors who are working in Mumbai. They come from different parts of India. All I hear from them is Mumbai is bad in terms of traffic, roads, expensive accommodation etc. If these people don’t like the city then they should simply leave and go back to their home town. Their govt is incapable of developing their states infra and creating jobs that’s why these people come here. Why don’t they stay in their state and make a difference. What is the point of constantly bashing the city ? These people are spineless, they don’t even care or want to improve Mumbai. They just want to make money & enjoy the cosmopolitan lifestyle here.

Mumbai, like other port cities had unfair advantage for centuries. No wonder that’s where jobs are. If I pay taxes, I have the right to crib.

But hey, you stay at home, save half of your salary because you don’t need to pay rent. And then post anonymously asking people to leave.

I’m sure you’ve not read about Samyukta Maharashtra Movement. If Mumbai would’ve been in Gujarat today then obviously people wouldn’t have come here for the comso lifestyle When Brit’s ruled all princely cities had the same advantage. It’s fault of state govts which have failed to develop the cities, thus people are coming to Mumbai and then cribbing. These people have zero empathy & regards towards this city & neither do they have any viable solutions. The weather is the best in the world. Transport is superb & cheap. Only problem bad roads & overpopulation. If wannabes leave then population wouldn’t be an issue.

Mumbaikars display the worst xenophobia and hate towards others. Early in my career made my choice never to go to Mumbai for work

Thank you! Stay where you are and help that city develop. Hope it comes with better luxuries and lifestyle like Mumbai. If it doesn’t, you’ll eventually comeback

Agreed no city is perfect but Mumbai certainly doesn't have the basic infrastructure in line real estate rates. Being a proud Mumbaikar is fine but turning deaf ear to problems is no solution. Had people started complaining earlier, Mumbai would have got metro way back.

We have protested and there have been significant movements. Read about people like Atre, Pani Wali Bai, etc. locals always voice their concerns to area corporator. The issue is Mumbai is not a planned city thus slums and unscaled urbanization is destroying the city.

Indians compalin about Govt and Urban Infra in all the cities. Because almost all Indian cities suck when it comes to urban infrastructure. Nothing to be taken personally, just move on. Even I complain about metro delays and potholes, but love the city.

Metro may improve certain things.

No city in the world is perfect to settle in right now. From NCR, BLR to SF, London everyone complains about their cities.
