Currently I have 8 leaves so just wanted to know if all 8 will be carry forward to next year or only half i.e. 4 will be carry forward to next year ?

It's not calculated like that. In a year you will be credited with let's say 20 leaves. Out of which 10 will be carry forwarded to next year.

So if someone joins in the mid year where he gets 10 leaves then his/her all 10 leaves will be carry forward? Or it will also be halved?

It will be halved, so 5 in this case
