Layoffs at TCS – Reality vs Speculation?"

Guys, I keep seeing so many posts and rumors about layoffs in TCS, but honestly, I haven’t personally come across any real case till now.

One guy I know is C3A and has been on the bench for 6 months – still in TCS without any issue.

Another person from my project had taken 2 years LWP for higher studies, recently resumed and is just reporting to RMG. No action has been taken on him so far and as far as I know he's on the bench for more than 3 months or more.

Looking at these cases, it honestly feels like while a few instances might have happened here and there, the way layoffs are being hyped on social media/WhatsApp looks much bigger than the reality.

👉 So in the end, wanted to ask: has anyone here actually experienced a layoff themselves or knows someone personally who has been laid off in TCS? If yes, please share.

Are you in hibernation dude, TCS is doing layoff left and right and you send to be living in another planet. I know many preparing who were laid off in the recent past and properly whose names are in fluidity list. My lead who is C5, aged 52 and works for the account 24x7 is having sleepless nights for the past one week

No! He knows what happening around. May be he is puppet of HR or manager and have some papa in TCS who is already agreed to save him.

Man TCS introduced very harsh bench period , All associate will feel the heat once they are on bench sometime as project allocation is kind of mess here. And they are not gone increase the bench .. That period is over now. U can't take bench as granted now

I feel this is good. Provided they give q fair chance of competition. Let get all data to employees rather than RMG. Also provide feedback in system the reason of rejection too.

Hmm but they haven't streamline project , allocation, visibility etc etc and suddenly enforced 225 days sudden mandatory billability which is unethical, currently we don't know how many verticles are there in TCS , if u r on bench suddenly u will get calls and because of client rounds and all account manager minimum takes 5-10 days to give feedback and suppose someone rejected 1-2 technical rounds because of many issues then you r gone.

Yes, it’s happening. One of my colleagues C2 grade is released overnight. Another C3A was put in PIP overnight. So far they’re not terminated but the way they’re being treated by RMG and HR seems suspicious. It happened last week in my account. Location Kolkata.

I am guessing that C2 was lateral hire? And c3A had c/d band?

No no, C2 guy has joined from fresher. Not sure about the band though. But as far as I know he’s technically very sound.

Heard from one of circle that one of the C3A associate got into fluidity list due to billing she was a dedicated resource but internal Coe team where there is no billing from client and not creating any revenue for tcs and was being asked that what have u done for tcs

But isn't the COE itself created by TCS? I know they are not billable to client but they are literally created by TCS.

I totally get your point, and I’m not denying that layoffs may have happened. It’s just that in my circle/project I haven’t personally come across anyone yet, so I wanted to check the wider ground reality here. If you know folks who were laid off or are on the fluidity list, could you share a bit more about the pattern you’ve seen (levels, accounts etc.)? That would really help get clarity rather than just speculation.”

I haven't seen any one getting laidoff either. But on 14th August I heard 3 guys got laid off from my account. And couple of them moved to bench. Also heard they laid off 15 from a project next to my ODC. All those 15 have 10 YOE and are good at their work and had little dependency in their project. Still they were laid off and some of them were laid off even after managers req not to do so. So in short If they really want to fire you they are going to do so even if you have your manager backing

Why don't they go on LWP for 6 months saying some reason and escape layoff?

I feel we can’t ignore the reality of the current situation. TCS today is not the same as the TCS we once knew. With the way things are changing, layoffs can happen anytime, anywhere. In my view, it’s better for employees to consider moving on whenever they get a good opportunity, so they can secure their growth and future.

@StrongSunbeam come to rmg you will be clear. Bhokna is very easy. People who suffers they know the reality. You can just post any shit without any knowledge. But reality se aap utna dur h jitna kashmir se kanyakumari....

RMG se clarity mil rahi hai to share the facts—levels, accounts, timelines. I’m not here to ‘bhonk’; I asked because my firsthand network hasn’t seen direct cases yet. Let’s keep it to verified info, not insults.”
