Layoff Paranoia is ruining my life

I work at Paytm and rumours are that 35 percent of workforce is going to be fired by may end. I'm definitely in the bottom 35 percent of my team as I'm in a new team and still learning the product. Even my team lead is saying that he will be fired. Now I'm confused, whether to work more or just completely stop caring about work.

I need a change. Can anyone provide leads for a backend engineer who works primarily on MERN stack and familiar with Java Springboot stack. I'm hard working and good at Leetcode style algorithmic questions

I'm in a similar boat as you. I've noticed that getting a referral at startups is easier because I've already gotten calls from a few startups. Issues with those are the work life balance though.

Things you can’t control - layoff decision Things you can - start job hunting as a worst case scenario, do bare minimum at work so as not to be in the bottom percentile, stop over thinking it’s not gonna be the end of the world.

I think it should not be difficult to try applying a decent brand on your resume
