Kannada Sammelana Urges Govt to Fill Teacher Vacancies

• Teachers are overburdened with non-teaching tasks, affecting the quality of education; the sammelana demands the appointment of clerks to handle these tasks.
• The sammelana condemned the reduction of Kannada language courses in degree programs by private deemed universities and urged the government to make Kannada mandatory in four semesters.
• The conference also insisted that Kannada elective subjects be compulsory in all colleges under Karnataka University.
