In India, people are only buying manual cars because they are cheaper. If the prices of both automatic and manual cars were the same, almost 99% of people would have bought automatic cars, just like in developed countries.

For people claiming that manual is better in highway, their implicit assumption is they will do better than a highly evolved machine( may be small percentage can 1-5% types) but not for most
Auto sure does add to the convenience but if it's about having sheer fun then surely a manual trumps always.. yes the auto gear boxes are much more efficient and quick with the shifts but only a few can match the fun the manual gearboxes give... But yeah.. if it is just convenience then Automatics surely trump always

Depends on the day. Manual is nice for shorter drives or when I want more control over.
Auto is nice in traffic and long drives. Feels considerably less tired when driving an Auto.
