Just be normal. Maintain your sanity. We will succeed in the long run.

My friends here, after having observed some common trends emerging in society today, it's very clear to me that being simple & normal is the best strategy.

Look at the world around us:

  • Attention spans are fucked. People cannot listen for 10 seconds without glancing over phone. There is very little recognition of the human in the 'other' person.
  • There is very little recognition of one self. Intoxicants, indiscipline, mindless activities are the sign of times. It's okay to do these. It's human to be silly. But it mustn't be your 24*7.
  • People are woke, but they're not awake. They'll come to you with a pitchfork as soon as they hear something that irks them, but barely try to understand your view.

These are disparate problems, and just some examples. The surest way to guard yourself is to avoid doing what everyone else is doing.

Be aware. Be disciplined. Exercise, eat well, sleep well, think well. Be simple, as you were a few years ago, or most people were mentally before the coming of the short term dopamine hit economy.

Random musings, thoughts welcome :)

This post really hits home. I feel like we’re living in a world that’s moving at lightning speed, and somewhere along the way, we’ve lost touch with the basics. The constant distractions, the pressure to always be “on” is exhausting.

Being simple and staying true to yourself, as you said, seems like the only way to maintain sanity in this chaos. Sometimes, it feels like we’re so caught up in trends and expectations that we forget to pause and just exist.

I make an effort to be simple and normal. It’s like saying, No, I won’t let the world dictate how I should feel or live. Staying true to yourself, despite everything happening around you, is a constant battle, but it’s also incredibly rewarding.

Thanks for this reminder.

I am glad that it does I feel very strongly about the topic

The third paragraph is exactly it. It's easy to stop being aware, but if you're able to say this to yourself 60% of the times, you're winning.

Chaddest on grapevine for a reason, keep it simple and do what makes you happy. There'd be 100's of people telling you to do 100's of thing but you gotta find your own way and work hard and eventually things will settle down.

Absolutely @eleCtrik I think it's about finding our own way to live a meaningful life. We decide what that is.

I just wish there was a way to make sure we have constant reminders to think this way. Because there are unfortunately periods of discipline and periods of indiscipline and while over long run I move forward, I do wish the pace was faster.

Hahaha I feel personally this thought process enables me to have the grindset.

I am clear about what I want to get from my life and work. Spending less energy on things that should not bother me, allows me to spend energy on the things that matter. Work, mind, body, relationships.

Thanks for sharing!

Indeed, we have been facing shorter attention span, doom scrolling and fear mongering epidemics.

Keep calm and focus on learning.

It resonates with me so much. People with the attention span of a goldfish. Attention and focus have become the greatest assets. Being simple in thoughts and life means a lot.

Discipline is very much needed in our lives now. We are actually living in a very fast paced world now, so a slow moving life is a need of the hour!
