Just a long rant about life

When i was in college i wanted to build my own company/product. Thought of many ideas and tried to build something. None of them worked and it affected my studies so I had to quit just to clear my exams.

After college I took placements in a WITCH like company where I got put into data entry/operations job after clearing difficult coding interviews (kismat kharab?). Somehow learnt new technologies on the side and managed to switch to a development role at a lower salary in a startup.

After 3 years Worked hard on DSA and (barely) managed to get a good offer with above average pay. But the company is not stable anymore and may layoff at any time. Right now struggling to learn enough DSA to crack any company. Now I am almost 30, i have no hobbies,no talents, no relationships just trying to have a stable career.

I see people everywhere doing so many things at once. How do they manage to do this. They are working at FAANG and managing businesses at the same time, have a bunch of friends. What am I doing wrong?

It is just luck + hardwork man. Work harder at everything and you will get there.

It gets better - don't worry about everything all at once. Take it one day at a time, with persistence, luck is bound to be in your favor one day 😀

Focus on one single thing, go to the gym or play something to keep physical & mental sanity, and career - think from an employer perspective & again optimize for one particular role.

Don't feel that you are the only one walking this road. But because in today's fast pace life everybody is dealing with their struggles and barely discuss with anyone.
No real friends (which will do bitching at your back) and relatives are another story.
But plz rem you are not alone on this path... there are so so many people walking in silos.

God bless you and have patience.

Buddy its alright Life is not fair and nothing will just come by Luck and Hardwork it will depend on many things.

Most of people on earth do struggle till the end of the life. I'm still struggling with depts, loans, health issue all due to scams but I do give hope to myself that everything will change one day.

Dont compare with others too bro if i earn 50k from software there will always be persons earning 1lakh. If i earn 2 lakhs there will always be business persons earning millions and it will go on.

There will always be something ur good at try working hard on it and you will find success.

Same here bro. I got the job so early(at 20) and ever since I'm working as a QA engineer. I always wanted to switch to dev but I never really tried😅 even today I'm in a dilema wheather to switch or explore QA with other opportunities. But you took the leap and tried and almost on the finishing line. Don't give up and put a little more effort. I'm sure you will get there. All the best.

You’re doing nothing wrong but comparing with others.

Looks like you’re not happy not because you haven’t done anything rather others are doing xyz which you don’t have.

Comparison is the thief of joy, man.

Few things you can do to come out of this place.

Prepare a list of what you have and many don’t

Physical activity- Run, jog, play.

Mental health- write what you have achieved so far and remember the struggles you had to go through. Feel proud of your achievement.

Environment- most critical, surround yourself with positive minds, most importantly, make yourself one. Avoid talking negative about your past actions, achievement, etc. Instead, share your small small success stories to your younger.

Read book- if you like book then read, genre doesn’t matter
Watch movies- watch movies of your like, I recommend cartoons.

There are many things you can do… hope this helps!!

Do you have any regrets?

It can be anything related to not doing something you always wanted to but never did, a mistake you realize you shouldn’t have made, or feelings of not being successful enough. Feel free to share your thoughts.
