Joining bonus

Hi folks, can anyone please shed some light on joining bonus. Whats the benefits of joining bonus? Is it really beneficial? Or companies just using it to play with our minds? Any comment will be helpful. Thanks

It’s a one time receipt from a company which is good to have, you can also bargain a little more. Note that, joining bonus should not be linked to your CTC and hike. Usually they give you to accept offer quickly and look around.

Example: If you are aiming for 10L CTC and company is giving you 8L CTC + 2L joining bonus making it to 10. However, it should be 10+2

Also look at other t&c For instance you might have to return Joining bonus if you leave within a year or so. (In some companies It's 3 years)

Imagine you got 3L Joining + 3 Retention..and now you can't leave else have to pay 6L, which is a huge amount.
