Job switch or MBA
Hi Folks,
A bit background about myself - graduated in 2021 (finance course). Worked for one year in a kpo, then worked with a global IB (portfolio valuations vertical) in Mumbai for 1.5 years and currently working as a valuations analyst at a $20bn fund.
Always wanted to get into investment role at a VC/PE.
Current dilemma - Pursue MBA right now (25yo) and then do consulting for 1-2 years before getting into investment role OR get the investment role right now (already have an offer from a $300mn brand new fund) with a 30% paycut and delay my MBA plans by 2-3 years?

Why would you take a 30% paycut? If you're a analyst at a large hedge fund you're already easily making north of 40Lpa. Just save up and do an mba abroad.

Yes, currently my pay is in that range but I’ll have to take a paycut because I’ll be moving from valuation team (back office) to investment team (front office) - actual deal making experience without any post grad

Thanks man, will take your inputs into account

Why not an online MBA?
