Short answer: safer than a lot of other MNCs right now, but not bulletproof. Long answer: IBM’s been cutting costs in NA and doubling down on India hiring. So if you’re in a high-demand role and performing well, you’re probably fine.

I’m at IBM Bangalore right now, and tbh I haven’t seen any panic internally. The layoffs were more US focused, and most of those were around legacy cloud roles. India teams are actually seeing more intake, especially in consulting and infra. That said, tech is tech, there’s never 100% job security anywhere

Honestly, IBM India seems to be on the safer side right now. While they’ve cut a bunch of roles in the Us especially in the Cloud division, they’re actively hiring in India. Saw job listings shoot up in the past couple of months. Looks like they’re shifting a lot of operations here.

A friend who worked at IBM mentioned that the company is constantly restructuring and reorganizing. He said that it's important to be adaptable and willing to learn new things. If you are not willing to learn and adapt, you may be at risk of being laid off.

IBM has recently announced layoffs in some of its departments globally, including some roles in India. However, IBM has also been hiring in other areas, such as cloud computing and data analytics. So, while job security is not guaranteed. The risk can be mitigated

IBM has been around for a long time and has a proven track record. But nothing is certain in today's world.

IBM layoffs? Rumours or truth?

Saw a random comment on LinkedIn that IBM is going to join the layoff gang soon. Is it true? P.S. I'm a new intern at IBM and I have an offer from them to join them as a full time post internship,so I don't have any insights as such
