Job change motivation
I am unsatisfied at my current job. Pros- flexibility, WFH. No micromanagement, good work life balance. Cons- zero impact of work, zero peer learning. Building POCs that lead nowhere. For quite some time, I have been trying to start preparing for interviews but unable to do it. I am stuck with the belief that no job is going to be perfect. I am unable to motivate myself to give interviews. I feel that there should be some meaning i.e. purpose in what I spend most of time on. Is it stupid to look for purpose in my job? Have you felt the same way? How to overcome this? P.S. I was stuck at a very toxic job before this and dont want to end up in the same situation again. I need work life balance for my mental sanity.

"I am stuck with the belief that no job is going to be perfect" man I had the same thoughts too. No job can be perfect nor do you.
What you are looking for is a job with some imperfection but still can make you feel content with it.
You need to search through companies and understand their actual value to find one that you'll like to put your efforts on.
It is based on their product / solutions' standards, innovation, people management etc.
Keeping top tier MNCs aside I did find certain companies very inspiring because of their open source contributions.
Ex: Ai4bharat does pretty good job on ML, I got to use their open source Indian regional translation model which is way too good to be made open source. Such factors represents a company's value.
You too will get to find one that you'll like. But ensure to be ready in terms of skills to take it up when the opportunity gets you.

That's true. No job is perfect, and unfortunately, the IT industry can be a pathetic, opportunistic, use-and-throw environment for both employees and employers.
