On-site is like a laser light for cats for most people. A short-term on-site is probably more harmful to financial growth than stagnancy in pay grade in India.
You should switch with a bridge to join back if you really need to. Job security is not guaranteed anywhere today.

10 years in service based with no onsite is career damaging bhai. Job security is anyway a myth now.
