It's been more than 6 yrs.I haven't promoted to ITA yet.Should I resign ?

It has been more than 6 years.I asked my manager for my ITA promotion every quarter.Manager gives just excuses like promotions window not opened,no update from HR,we already shared your name for promotion. Now I am fed up with manager excuses .The strange part is my colleague put the papers and the manager offered the promotion to him, and the manager asked him ,you should have come to us directly for promotion but he was asking for promotion from 1 year.Since behaviour is different in scenarios. Please suggest is it the right decision to put papers for salary hike as well as promotion.

Without an offer you won't have leverage to negotiate.
Or Resign and then start looking... If you are Confident. Worst case scenario you will have to retract your resignation if you are unable to secure an offer.

No.

If you need a pay hike, get an offer and resign. Very rarely people get retained these days in tcs. If they match the offer and retain you, consider yourselves lucky. But dont have high hopes on it.

Promotion will only get you 15%.

I tried to apply in other companies. But it seems companies not willing for candidate having 3 months notice period.By resigning, can I say that it will cut down my Np and may be company will try to retain with some increased amount.Am I going right ?

Do not resign without an offer.

There is no assurance that they will be ready to retain you.

Upskill, get offer, resign, don't accept retention if any - in that sequence, though upskilling should be a permanent feature. Believe in yourself and don't get stuck in a rut... oops TCS. In a few years you may have your current manager asking you for a promotion. All the best.

Upskill... And once you have a offer.... Please dont negotiate.... Leave tcs for good.... It's not worth it.... May be they will retain you/promote you..... It does not matter... Since most your salary increase will be in form of qva, health premium etc...... And qva will be snatched giving reasons like rto index..... and once you make it to ast ... You will not get 100 % qva as a rule.

Immediately as delayed promotion can get more delayed.

Same for me, I also have 6 years of experience and out of this 2.7 years at TCS but still no promotion to ITA yet.
