Stupid take. Sab log sirf high iq ka hi kaam karege kya ? Even a small % of high iq people of our huge population is a lot wrt to other countries.
Not only high iq people contribute to the economy. People who are into Electricians, Plumbing , construction etc are also contributing. All these things are as essential as any high iq jobs.
This is wrong to assume people who work as Electricians, Plumbing , construction are low IQ, there are many other factors too.
But low IQ is because of factors as mentioned.
I think smart and stupid are secondary issues. Just having 1.4 billion people to me seems like a logistics nightmare in any kind of situation. And if most of them are stupid then it's even worse.

Did you know that IQ is a myth? IQ tests can be gamed with repetition and better education. So bettering basic education for children has already increased our IQ over generations and that it why IQ scored are normalised over the population today.

Purchasing power is relative. Economists can use it freely to compare economies. Goods/Services are demanded and supplied with different proportions in a particular economy. So most Indians can afford a haircut, bank accounts, insurance & food grains easily, while Middle East affords Oil and SE Asia affords memory chips.
The point is, Indians have an okay purchasing power in things which are essential to them but not in those goods which are deemed essential to US like iphones. Your economy automatically gets structured to fill the needs of your population demography soon.
Don't sweat abt high population. Coz the people you think are suffering from it, don't think they are suffering.
