Isnt the problem solving through DSA is moving in the direction of mugging.

Nowadays problem solving through has become a mugging race. I have see candidates making notes of the questions mug up almost everyday. Why dont the companies are changing the trend and start asking something different from this mugging rat race.

Many companies still rely on DSA problems because they test problem-solving skills, but you're right—some candidates just memorize solutions instead of learning concepts. While a few companies are shifting to system design or real-world case studies, DSA remains common for coding roles.

The best approach is to focus on understanding patterns, not just mugging up problems, so you can adapt to new challenges.

Yeah, DSA can feel like memorization now. You're right, many just mug up solutions.

Companies should change. Some are trying: system design, behavioral questions, take-homes, pair programming, more open-ended problems, and deeper fundamental questions.

The shift will be slow. Keep practicing DSA, but also work on understanding why solutions work, not just how.
