🚫 Is this the new norm with ride-hailing apps

Today, I tried booking a cab from Gurugram to Delhi using Uber and Ola. Every time I confirmed a ride (and this happened 9 times!), the driver called me before pickup — asking:

"Kitna fare aa raha hai?"

When I told them it was showing ₹370, they insisted on ₹100 extra for MCD Toll, or else they would cancel the ride.

Seriously? Isn’t the whole point of these apps to avoid fare negotiations and provide transparent, reliable service?

It’s disappointing to see this kind of manipulation becoming common:

Riders are stuck waiting.

Honest drivers lose potential rides.

The platform experience breaks down completely.

Riders should feel safe and respected, not exploited.

Has anyone else faced the same issue lately?

It's happening with everything. For me it happened with rapido and he asked extra when midway to Bangalore airport

It used to be. In BLR I think they have introduced an "approximate cost" of ride.
And we're supposed to use this as baseline for negotiation with the autowala 🤕

Okay, but in NCR, I literally tried booking cab for at least 9 times and each time the cab driver called, asked for the fare showing on the app. Once I tell the fare, they say we have to pay the MCD Toll fee also... Idk what's happening. It's clearly mentioned that the fare includes the tolla.

Best way is to reduce amount in rapido and you give extra money with 50 100 accordingly, both will get benefit 😁
