She knows that Indians still seek validation from white people and is leveraging that fact to augment her popularity in India. She is a politician afterall, who are emotionally immune power fanatics, and hence can never feel love unless there is some vested interest. I would trust a venomous cobra twice but would never trust a politician as they are barely human.
