It's not about "being important" many companies these days sell customers data (in the name of free apps) and indulge in data profiling which GPV might also be involved in. I am fine with that too as long as the data is not personal and is not shared with the company where the employee works. Not sure if this is mentioned somewhere in the privacy policy of GPV etc.
