Is *SYSTUUUM* Design the new Leetcode?
First day of the year hasn't even completed yet and I have seen 3 folks already launching their system design courses on various platforms like YouTube, X(Twitter), and 🅱️inkedIn, with so called discounts. Saw college nibba nibbis commenting on the posts as well, drool over the courses. Are even freshers being asked high level system design now? Chal kya raha hai?

Mostly no. Only a very few set of companies ask sys design questions for entry level roles, because of a lack of better way to select from a huge pool. Can't keep having 2+ rounds of just DSA. Zomato asked sys design in my college iirc

I know Zomato, ION Group ask System Design at junior levels but is it justified? How can a college graduate be expected to build a system when they haven't even entered the industry?

Yeah it's not but the bar is constantly rising. Too much competition and companies need ways to filter out candidates. Don't know where it's gonna head in the future :/

Because most of the companies asked basic system design to college students. Even for a 25k internship they took a separate round for 1 hour which was a database design round.

May be in tier 1 colleges they might not be asking but most of the companies in my college asking basic hld lld
