Did they force you to resign? Is forced resignation still going on? Is it true 80k employees removed by forced resignation?

I resigned on 4th november and on 28th I got a shock as HR mailed me that I will be released from the project and LWD will be 2nd December and when I took back resignation they didnt accept and forced me to resign as HR told me that I am in some list and I will be terminated if not resigned!!
