Is scheduling interviews on weekend a sign of a work culture red flag?
For the first time in my life I was asked to give an Interview on the weekend. Does it signal a bad work culture?
Not really.
Some companies either:
a) don't have bandwidth to take interviews during the week due to projects and smaller teams
b) sometimes there are just so many applications and they want to go through them asap to try and close the role quick.
So they have to do it on weekends as well. They're giving up their weekends as well to take interviews, and it's not just for you, there's multiple others. So it may be 30 mins for you but could be the entire day for them.
Personal experience

So it means in future if you join, you will also be asked to stay on weekends to take interviews right?
And companies don't pay employees extra to take interviews on the weekend right?
Yes possible, depending on your seniority and role.
And no, I've always either been comped off or been paid for that day.
Also, not like the company is hiring every month.
Depends on your company, can't speak for everyone.

Absolutely yes. Working under Managers who have no weekend life, is like sleeping next to a mad dog.
