Is mexico onsite opportunity worth it?

Recently my manager said that he will send me onsite to Guadalajara Mexico. Considering the risk of drug cartels there, is it worth taking this opportunity?

Also as an ITA, how much can we expect the compensation to be? Any information is much appreciated.

It would help if you can tell whether this is for c1 or c2 or whatever grade it is. Also could you please give a breakdown of how it amounts to 1.5 lakhs because most of the people here are saying it is not a good opportunity.

It's c2. I will tell exact picture. My friend package in india 11 lak. When transfer to Mexico he is getting approx 50k pasos per month.one more thing you will get the Indian and Mexico salary both at a time every month. But in Indian salary they will not give quarterly bonus. So finally he will every month 77k Indian rupees and 2.to 2.5 lakhs Mexico money

I heard that Transfer from Mexico to Canada/USA for a software professional has better and quick processing time. Can we consider to take this as a jumping stage?

I also need the same information.. will keep an eye on this post. From what I have heard, this Guadalajara place is equivalent to a Tier 1 city so you need not worry about drug cartels.
Yes the conversion is bad and even the INR component is converted to pesos. My main doubt is whether as a bachelor someone would be able to do a saving there or not?

Depending on your grade, if you are C1 then savings would be lesser and you can only save if you are a bachelor. If C2 then the savings would be decent. However to get exact numbers you should check the compensation letter in your work permit.

Mexico is not onsite..it's more like a nearshore for US/Canada clients.. also the Mexico pesos to INR conversion rate is very poor..try for better onshore opportunities

Thank you. You're right it is an onshore opportunity supporting a US client. In my current project, there is no other onsite opportunity. How can I try for other opportunities?

42k is the monthly allowance before taxes. 8k would be taxes. Expenses depend on your lifestyle but the minimum is 5-6k.

I heard that for near-shore salary is 50% depute country salary and 50% is Indian salary. So on a whole considering the depute country expenses savings are less or no savings. I also heard that associates have to bring money from home to survive.

Is this true?

Consider if you like to explore Mexico has good places. Savings may not be there but you may have nice experience.
