what I have seen most MBA's do... Marketing, Client Sales, HR. but most of them do Business Analyst work. if you get into a Tech or Product team... there is a path towards becoming a product manager(tech or functional owner) . if you join Business teams (finance, risk, etc) you will forever be a BA and maybe lead a team of BAs. if you get into sales or investment ... there is a chance of earning big bonuses.

No. Assuming you earn somewhere between 20-30l... Your opportunity cost is that salary+ 40 l cost if done from A BC

So basically you are down 70 lac in a year

Ofc in FUTURE job prospects will be better. But yeah, in FUTURE

MBA is mostly useful if you want to change domains as well as if you are in your 20s. Atleast the full time classes

MBA grad from one of the top schools here, so heed my words.

Guy 1: a start-up enthusiast; ideates a lot; little action. He took the CAT, got somewhere in the early 70s, now does Regional sales stuff. Decent package; ends meet.

Guy 2: Had a job, got bored wanted something bigger. Quit job, prepared, scored in the mid 80s; got in to a new IIM, good job, he's at the same package he would've had, if he stayed employed for those three years, but with a large debt. LoL

Guy 3: No job for two years, managed to work with Guy 1, and get something moving even if it failed. Scored in the late 90s on CAT. Got the premium stuff, and the premium debt.

Sure, an MBA opens more doors than those right now. But the trajectory is better.

Also, if you aim, aim for the stars.

I never wanted to do an MBA...but after 13 years of exp in 2020 when I was already managing IIM guys I applied for a Director position. I was told I have everything except an MBA...hence I did an executive MBA in 2020...with my job...it was very difficult to manage time but I completed and became the Director I wanted. If you want to pursue leadership positions in top companies in your future do it now.

You mean you did a part time MBA? Does it hold the same value as a regular MBA?

Research on executive MBA...it's a full time course with daily classes and exams on weekend...you get a degree post that!

Not worth it. Spend some time on learning skills in software development instead of wasting those years for MBA.

Much more money in software engineering in big companies. But, mba is the right way to go if someone doesn't want to continue in software anymore.

Depends on multiple factors.

Could you please specify the following:

Your current CTC What are you expecting out of an MBA? What kind of roles would you be targeting? How do you see your career journey without an MBA and are you happy with it? Is there an significant impact of AI in your job role?

Can help only after you answer these questions.
