Is MBA an prerequisite to get promoted

Hi Consulting folks,

Do opine your view whether a CA who has joined mbb or any other consulting firm as associate gets road block in future due to not having an mba degree. Is MBA a deterrent for future promotions? Also do let us all know the career progression from an associate ( CA )
