Is learning ruby on rails worth it?

I want to learn backend dev. I was thinking of learning Ruby on Rails. Since hate hate javascript. So I wanted to know do any Indian startups/companies use RoR? And anyone here with experience in it, would appreciate your answer.

What has Javascript got to do with backend dev! I mean unless you talk of mern/meanstack etc. If you want to learn backend, why such rare technology? Why not Python, Java etc?
