Is language based racism that bad in Banglore?
I hear people talking about racism in Banglore towards North Indians. I wanted to understand ground reality from people currently living in Bangalore.

South India works on politiness. If we speak politely, won't face any issues. One can expect some rowdy behaviour from autowalas. But we can take safe steps to avoid them.
On a general note north indians in BLR crib a lot. In BLr they demand/ expectations are higher than what one can get in Switzerland. They are not polite, get into altercations and cry racism.

I agree with your points. But how to deal with rowdy autowalas? What would you suggest to avoid conflicts with them.

Autowala are jobless goon. They pick fights even with locals. Other than that, people just expect politeness. I am non-local and I never faced language issue cause I spoke politely with locals. Speak softly, don't curse and say things like thank you will help.

Nahh it's more on social media

If you’re humble and politely admit you are new to the language, you will not face it .

Depends on your luck to be very honest. You will find people from both extremes.
