No, it cannot be much difficult to join a organization after 5months to 1 year career break, as the break is small and considerable.
What actually matters is whether you would be able to deliver the quality skills on their table or not? If you have cutting skills in a data science domain (as you mentioned), then the short career break does not matter much, as you can prove it as a time period for upskilling.
