Is it worth getting retained in TCS?
I got an offer from a product based company around 110% hike (4+ years of exp), for that I need to relocate to tier 1 city. To get retained in TCS I've asked for 80% over the current salary. This is approved by ISU and BSU head, now it is pending with HR. So far there is no negative feedback from HR.
If HR approves and gives 80% hike, can I consider this for retention?

I am also on notice period currently
I put the paper in 2022 and tcs retained me with an onsite opportunity. So TCS took 6 months for all papers work and 2023 jan they applied for my visa.. I got a visa in July 2023.
Then I asked my BRM for my travel. Then he has started making different excuses .. client ne freeze kr Diya hai travel till September Tak.
Next excuse...Tcs main higher level pr changes ho gye hai. So after October will see.
I daily sent them mail and messages for my travel initiate But nothing happened till Jan 2024.
Then suddenly I got to know from my project manager. This project will be ramped up in Feb 2024.
Then project winded up. And this is March 2024 I'm with same package and same company with frustrated emotion.
Then I took 2 months on bench and tryed with other project have any onsite opportunity.but not even single project will do the travel immediate..1 saal tak offshore project kaam krna padega then will send you..
Ary main pagal hu kya..apne saal barbaad kru same iteration chalau...bs ek project join karke...client interaction karke..fr paper daale..Swaad aa gya..but in logo ko ghanta frk padta hai..
Bhai tum soch lo .kya krna tumhe...

Leave tcs asap no benefit in getting retained and not wise decision as well

You are fresh now, only 4 YOE. More time you spend in TCS, your skills will get marred. After some more years your value will reduce in the market, and you will not get any offers. Better to leave now than repent later.

Why you are saying that will not get any offer after spending some time in TCS?

I have spent 13 years in TCS. I stopped getting calls after 4 years. Dead stop.
I had no good skills. I tried to switch technology but TCS did not give me opportunity. 5 years earlier I had to forge my CV to get a suitable role. Then with Gopinathan becoming CEO and bringing some good policies I could crack some good certifications. Now working hard for 5 years and gaining some suitable experience in my new role and along with the certifications I have again started getting interview calls. But I still have to work hard and be political to gain more experience as the ask for interview accuracy is high at this YOE level and then I can switch.

Ask for 120-130% in tcs, should always negotiate on existing offers. If tcs cannot make at least to 120%, then leave tcs.

I doubt.
The delivery partner clearly told me, so far they were able to retain people with utmost 40% hike.
So don't expect TCS to match the offer you are holding.

If they really need you, they will definitely match the offer. Max try to stick to the salary match
Bro My suggestion is:
Check the conditions once....if nothing major
Take the 80% Hike, Stay for a year and jump again... Note: Place a condition that need a onsite within a year.
If they give onsite within a year, you would be double benefited Else Leave the company saying that you people promised for onsite and didn't give - So Leaving the company.

It's better to leave TCS. They tend to give you additional responsibilities and require you to work on multiple projects after increasing your salary. I had a similar experience after they decided to retain me with a matching hike, compared to what I was offered outside TCS.

Better to move to another company.. TCs give lollipop and suck your all blood

😂
After this 80% hike, there will be no promotion for next 5 years + meagre increments. It's called rationalization. Now your wish.
Mgmt is very smart and is in this game for much longer than your experience.
