Trending @Capgemini; Is it wise to resign considering the market situation?
I need suggestions from everyone. I have 4 years experience working in technologies like AWS(Step function, lambda, cloudwatch, S3, Redshift), SQL, python.
I've been on the bench for like 2 months now after my last billable role. Is it wise to drop resignation now without any offer letters? I haven't applied for any jobs outside yet. Planning to start job searching today.
Reason for resignation : I feel like I've been in one organisation for a long time now and I feel like I've gotten comfortable. I need to come out of that comfort zone.
Please help me out with your suggestions.

Tip : Don't resign without an offer letter considering the situation outside. So please prepare yourself and start giving interviews then resign

All the best

Thank you for this! It was always a wise choice to have an offer and then resign. I will try to get an offer hopefully soon.

It's better to resign earlier in CG because of too long notice period of 90 days even if u have another offer no company will wait for 90 days. As u mentioned u are in comfortable zone the only way u can get uncomfortable by resigning and setting goal of getting good compensation offer.

Thank you for this! I really need to get out of this comfort zone.

Try your level best. You can always take back ur resignation letter back within the stipulated time.

Thank you for this!
True that I can take back resignation but it is really high time I move forward in terms of work, compensation, position and work life balance.

Will suggest to get an offer in hand before resigning speaking from my personal experience. Most companies are now requesting 90days notice from employees so even the recruiters are aware of the situation and a lot of them are ok to wait depending on the requirement of the job profile and your particular skill sets. I had quit my job before CG and took 4 months break for traveling, had an offer letter to join one of the best research companies and the Covid struck and I was jobless for over 18months. Was a lockdown hire here at CG. Agreed not everyone will have similar situation, however would suggest to try and have an offer before resigning.

Thank you for sharing your experience here!
It really makes a lot of sense to have an offer before resigning. I'll try and get an offer before resigning.

Company gave me retention bonus upto dec 2024. But they didn't gave the offered hike from the last 2 years.
So I need to resign for a better salary. But I don't have any offer in my hand.
So question is if I put resign paper, is it like we can cancel the resign letter? Any option to cancel repayment of retention bonus if I get any other company?
